一、防淤闸的作用常州市武进县沿江地区引长江水灌溉的断头河道上,由于江水含沙量较大,引水河道淤积严重,每年需投入大量财物和劳力进行清淤拓浚.以小河镇郭河为例,1977年挖河,10年后河口段淤积深达2.5m,难以引水灌溉.1986年进行清淤,并在河口建防淤闸控制,尽可能少引长江水,而充分利用拦蓄的降雨径流和灌溉回归水,通过河槽调蓄进行灌溉.1989年4月对郭河实测,其淤积状况见下表:
