文化是人类在实践活动中创造的物质财富与精神财富的总和,语言是人们沟通情感、传递信息的符号体系,是文化交流、传播、发展的基本工具,它反映着社会文明进步的成果。文化和语言之间是相互联系的,文化需要通过语言交流和传递信息,语言也不能脱离文化而孤立存在,总会受到文化的影响与制约。翻译是一种跨文化交际活动,深受社会文化的影响,本文试图从归化和异化两种翻译方法出发,探究跨文化翻译中面临的文化问题。
Culture is the sum of material wealth and spiritual wealth created by mankind in practice. Language is the symbol system of people’s communication of emotions and information, and is the basic instrument of cultural exchange, communication and development. It reflects the achievements of social civilization and progress. Culture and language are interrelated. Culture needs to communicate and transmit information through language, and language can not exist in isolation from culture. Culture is always affected and restricted by the culture. As an intercultural communicative activity, translation is deeply influenced by social culture. This thesis attempts to explore the cultural problems in intercultural translation from the two approaches of domestication and foreignization.
