This article explores the root causes of the differences between the broadcasting systems in the United Kingdom and the United States. Britain and the United States have many commonalities and similarities in political, economic and cultural systems. However, they have chosen a completely different path in the radio and television system. The United Kingdom has chosen to take the lead in public service broadcasting. The United States has established a commercial system As the leading system. As the Anglo-American radio and television system is the prototype of the rest of the West, it is theoretically typical to study the causes of its differences. The dissertation mainly adopts the method of literature analysis and finds that economic factors play a decisive role in the formation of the radio and television system in the two countries.
