龙头山水利工程,位于阳朔县城上游约一公里处的漓江上面。由于它具有旅游、发电、航运、灌溉等明显的工程效益,在交通、水电等部门组织进行的各次桂(漓)江规划中,都把它推荐为桂江梯级开发的第一期工程,并于1972年冬天,经广西自治区批准动工兴建。
