我們國家從解放以來到現在在地質勘探方面做了不少工作,取得了很大的成績,地質工作有了很大的發展,但是作為工业化尖兵的地質工作,還遠遠不能適应国家的需要。目前有些礦山的礦量還不能滿足生產的要求;有些勘探队還缺少後備勘探基地;我們的地質工作水平還很低;過去幾年,我們的工作大半是在蘇聯專家的指導下,對一些已知的礦床進行大規模的勘探,而這些已知的礦床為數究竟是有限的,今後除對這些已知的礦床没有搞清楚的部分,繼續進行找礦和勘探外,我們還应積極地開展礦區或新區的找礦和勘探工作。而這些工作比僅對已知礦床進行勘探要複雜得多,這就要求我們有計劃地開展科學研究工作,不然地質工作將無法適應国家的需要,將更處於被動的地位。因此我認為地質局提出的一方面結合国家規劃的要求,一方面根據本單位地質勘探工作的需要與具體情況,積極開展科學研究的工作方針是正確的。這樣不但能保證實現國家12年科学規劃對我們的要求,而且對我們地質勘探任務的完成,技術水平的提高,都有很大的幫助。

These tasks are much more complex than simply prospecting the known deposits, which requires that we carry out scientific research in a planned manner. Otherwise, the geological work will not be able to meet the needs of the country and will be in a more passive position. Therefore, on the one hand, I think the geological bureau put forward the principle of actively carrying out scientific research in accordance with the requirements and specific conditions of geological exploration in our unit in combination with the requirements of national planning. This will not only ensure that the requirements of the state’s 12-year scientific planning are met, but will also be very helpful to the completion of our geological exploration mission and the enhancement of the technological level.
