饮食文化是中国传统文化的重要组成部分,博大精深,源远流长。随着改革开放和中国经济的发展,特别是2008年北京奥运会的举行,来华的旅客越来越多,他们在参观美景的同时,也想品尝一下享誉四方的中国美食。因此,一份好的英译菜单尤其重要,它不仅能够满足外国用餐者的便利,而且在一定程度上还能弘扬中国的饮食文化。本文首先阐述了中西方饮食文化的差异,再提出了相应的翻译原则。
Food culture is an important part of traditional Chinese culture, broad and profound, has a long history. With the reform and opening up and the development of China’s economy, especially the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, more and more tourists come to China. They also want to enjoy the delicious Chinese food while visiting the beautiful scenery. Therefore, a good English-translated menu is particularly important, not only to meet the convenience of foreign diners, but also to a certain extent, promote Chinese food culture. This article first expounds the differences between Chinese and Western food culture, and then puts forward the corresponding translation principles.
