根据高分辨率多波束探测和载人深潜器Shinkai6500直接观察,钱洲深海峡谷表层沉积过程有与其他大型深海峡谷相同的特征.钱洲海槽上段遭受剥蚀或见有少量沉积,中、下段则以浊流和碎屑流沉积为特征.在斜坡下部发现涌水低温动物群、活动断裂和流体活动.钱洲海槽垂向沉积层序的变化包括四国盆地扩张后的4个沉积层序,其中上部层序A和B是浊流沉积.然而,深海峡谷的演化则与构造极为密切.上段深切谷与南北向的剪切断裂有关,东西向扇道则与东西向剪切断裂有关.而海槽轴向水道发育则与盆地中央的沉降有关.

Characterized by the deposition of turbidity and debris flow.The low temperature fauna, active faults and fluid activities are found in the lower part of the slope.Changes of the vertical sedimentary sequence in the Qianhai Trough include four sedimentary sequences after the expansion of the Siguo Basin, However, the evolution of the deep-sea canyon is closely related to the structure.The deep deep valleys in the upper section are related to the shear faults in the north and south direction while the east-west fan channels are related to the east-west shear faults. The development of trough axial channels is related to the settlement of the central basin.
