那些个子小的为了走近清泉，便钻到蝉的肚子下，蝉宽厚地抬起爪子，让这些不速之客自由通过。那些大一点儿的昆虫，不耐烦地跺着脚，迅速地吸了一口就退开，到旁边的树枝上去兜一圈，然后更加大胆地回来。它们越发贪婪了，刚才还有所收敛，现在已变成了一群乱哄哄的侵略者，一心要把开源引水的凿井人从泉水边赶走。
在这群强盗中，最不罢休的是蚂蚁。我曾看见过它们一点一点儿地乱咬蝉的爪尖，逮着正被它们拉扯的蝉的翅尖儿，爬到蝉背上，挠着蝉的触角。一只大胆的蚂蚁就在我的眼皮下，竟然抓住蝉的吸管，拼命想把它拔出来。
这个巨人给这些小矮子烦得没了耐心，最终放弃了水井。它朝这群拦路抢劫的家伙撒了一泡尿逃走了。
