舞蹈音乐不仅给舞蹈以长度和速度,也促使舞蹈语汇准确、简练、集中,同时,舞蹈动作的语言性和情绪的发展、深入,也是借助音乐的旋律、节奏来体现。在舞蹈与音乐的有机结合中,才塑造了完整的舞蹈形象。因此,在舞蹈作品中,音乐和舞蹈共同担负着刻画人物形象,表达思想内容的任务。由此可见,音乐在舞蹈中有着举足轻重的作用,而舞蹈最重要的是平时的基训练习,每堂基训课都需要有合适的音乐来配合舞蹈动作,锻炼舞者的肌肉素质,便于表达舞者的感情。舞蹈基训课效果的好坏,钢琴伴奏起着极为重要的作用。但目前国内舞蹈伴奏曲目并没有形成完整的体系,远远跟不上整个舞蹈教学发展的需要。舞蹈伴奏音乐也根据舞蹈的种类,一般分为:中国古典舞音乐,芭蕾舞音乐,民族民间舞音乐,当代和现代舞音乐等。
