Preface The object of this paper is the upper horizon of the potassium zone of Preure salt between the Watrous and Kandahar areas of Saskatchewan (Figure 1). Fifteen available cores revealed abrupt lateral and longitudinal changes from carnallite (carnallite-rock salt rock) to potash-rock salt (potash-rock salt rock). A more important purpose is to determine the relationship between the potash salt and phlogopite and to explain the changes in lithology from one species to another in both horizontal and vertical directions.
