In the process of translation between English and Chinese, we always need to compare the two languages, and the comparison of languages cannot be separated from the comparison of cultures. This article aims to illustrate the importance of understanding the concomitant meaning of culture in translation and the correct translation method that should be adopted through the comparison of the cultural connotations of the basic English and Chinese color words.
