在梦想与现实之间,在美术与奥运之间,色彩恰似一道美丽的虹。“色彩”是艺术和美的象征。“色彩与奥林匹克”形象地反映出2008·第三届中国北京国际美术双年展与2008·北京奥运的密切关系。色彩所具有的丰富性寓意人类文化的多元性和多样性,也象征着它一经调配即可创造出具有鲜明时代特质的缤纷景象。“色彩”赋予“奥林匹克”更多的奇幻、生动和美, 2008·第三届中国北京国际美术双年展将用造型艺术(绘画与雕塑等)充实2008·北京奥运会倡导的人文精神。同时,奥林匹克一贯提倡的人类和谐与进步的理念,也将会给艺术家们的创作以启示和鼓舞。
