1986年英语教学大纲第一次指出:“课文首先应作为一个整体来教。开始时就分段教学,容易产生见树不见林的毛病,不利于学生掌握课文中心思想和进行听、说、读、写的综合训练”。这是自78年试用大纲颁布以来各地英语教学实践经验和教训的深刻总结。至此,我国的中学英语教学才有了完全跳出旧的教学模式的机会,真正的课文教学改革也是从那时开始起步的。课文整体教学法就是近年来在教改园地里初绽蓓蕾的一朵奇葩。
