In August 1989, the author of this article and other interested persons conducted a scientific excavation of the ancient human ruins of the Mazu Cave at Huangjiashan, Mengzi County, Yunnan Province, and unearthed rich relics of ancient humans, ancient cultural relics and fossils of animals and plants. Through the analysis of the cultural relics sites, the author believes that the era of the site of the Red Deer Cave between Late Pleistocene to Early Holocene is more appropriate, it is estimated that 10,000 years ago, the Red Deer can be tentatively scheduled for the Paleolithic Late cultural sites. The site of the Red Deer Cave is the thickest and best preserved place in the cultural layer of the ancient Paleolithic ruins in our province. This archeological discovery provided valuable physical data for the study of the Paleolithic culture in Yunnan Province.
