时尚、时髦都是指在一定时间内,社会上风行的行为、举止、生活习俗、审美价值等等。在时间上,它有明显的阶段性,在内容上,它是一个较为宽泛的概念。抛开室内装饰材料和技术的时间因素之外,单就形式而论,室内设计实际上已经成为某种文化的标签、某种时尚的符号或标志,如果设计师不使用在某个时代被社会普遍认可的形式,不能反映时代的风尚,他就会被认为是一个不入时的落伍者,他的方案就不会被业主采用。
