Northwest Petroleum Geology Bureau of Geology and Minerals A group of exploratory wells under construction in Shaya, northern Tarim, recently tested high-yield oil and gas streams in succession. The new discoveries in these different regions and different tectonics show once again the enormous hydrocarbon potential of the Shaya Uplift. The discovery of the Mesozoic oil layer is another major breakthrough in finding oil in the Tarong area. Located at 55-60km west of Luntai County, Sha 4 and Sha 7 wells are the two exploratory wells in the Jacara structure following Sham Tseng 2 wells.
