1975年,在我国尚没有大型板材拉伸矫直机的情况下,为了解决军工所急需的大规格预拉伸整体壁板,我们对1500吨型材拉伸矫直机进行了改造。在设备的原有基础上,增加了T型体(转体)外夹料机构,扩大了原设备的使用范围—将型材矫直机改造成为亦能矫直板材的多用途矫直机,成功的生产了符合质量要求的大规格预拉伸整体壁板,为我国在新型航空材料方面填补了一项空白,为此得到了全国科学大会的嘉奖。
