德熙老师,您永远活在我们心中

早就听说德熙老师患癌症的消息,大家一直为他的健康担心,幻想着吉人天相,也许会出现治愈的奇迹。突然得知他病情恶化,不久又得知他在异国他乡与世长辞,无法见他最后一面,无法向他遗体告别,悲痛的心情难以用语言表达。我在北京大学中文系语言专业上了五年学,却没有机会听德熙老师的课,这是一件很遗憾的事。因为我入学时,德熙师在国外讲学,当他回国时,我们要学的专业课并不多了。但他给我的印象还是很深的。在某种意义上说,我后来学语言学,与读吕叔湘老师和他合写的著名的《语法修辞讲话》不无关系。当时我上中学,在《人民日报》上时断时续地读过连载了半年的《讲话》,很新奇地觉得如何用好语言,其中真还大有学问。 Already heard of Dexi teacher suffering from cancer news, we have been worried about his health, imagine the auspicious days, may be a miracle of healing. But he gave me the impression is still deep. In a sense, my later studies on linguistics were not unrelated to the reading of the teacher Lv Shuxiang and his famous “grammatical rhetorical speech”. At that time, I went to high school and read the “speech” which lasted for half a year intermittently on the “People’s Daily”. I was curiously wondering how to make good use of the language, among which I really learned a lot.
