The wheel-stone system was constructed in 17th century around Kyoto.And it was the first track transportation facilities in Japan.It was made of granite stones and normally with groove.This system was constructed to overcome several marshy districts located at southern part of Kyoto and,the pass located between Kyoto and Ohtsu.In this report,wheel-stone transportation system around Kyoto city and its heritages are surveyed.And history of these wheel-stone was compared with the history of modem railway system.
