The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers(JSME) has about 44 thousands of members and 20 study divisions.The technology and society division is one of them,and it was newly established in 1991.Research committee of the history of mechanical engineering and technology began to its own study from 1991,and is now continuing various study actively. In this paper,transition of history of mechanical engineering and technology study from annual proceedings of the JSME is presented.
