肾交感神经比其他任何神经都具有更高的紧张性活动,因此肾交感神经能较好地反映心血管的交感神经活动水平及中枢交感神经的活动水平。研究证明,在中枢神经系统中,下丘脑室旁核是肾交感神经的中枢核团,也是神经内分泌和自主神经系统的重要整合部位。它在心血管活动的中枢调节、促肾上腺皮质激素的释放、应激及肾交感神经活动等方面有重要的作用,尤其对急性肾损伤和慢性肾衰竭患者的肾交感神经兴奋性增强中有着直接的关系。
