1988年前,江苏亚太泵业集团公司的前身只是物资系统一个修理机电设备的小厂,1987年底,由于多种因素影响,亏损额高达100万元,企业濒临倒闭。常庆昌走马上任后,经过10年的发展,现已拥有紧密层4个全资企业和2个控股境外企业,固定资产1.2亿元,产销利保持了连年翻番的增长速度,综合经济指标在全国同行业中名列第一。
