A major difficulty in studying the wind currents along the coast is the determination of the sea surface slope. Because of the rather complex differential integral equations that the slope of the sea satisfies, numerical solutions are generally only available. The famous work of Hidaka (1954) only calculated the infinite depth of the sea.
