Objective: To investigate the role of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in the pathogenesis of hydatidiform mole. Methods: The expressions of NF-κB and COX-2 protein in 50 cases of hydatidiform mole (18 cases of malignant transformation) and 20 cases of normal villous tissue were determined by immunohistochemistry PV-6000 method. Results: The expressions of NF-κB and COX-2 in normal control group and hydatidiform mole group were significantly different (P <0.05). The positive expressions of NF-κB and COX-2 in hydatidiform mole group were Higher than hydatidiform mole non-malignant group (P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: NF-κB and COX-2 may be involved in the process of trophoblast invasion. To detect the expression of NF-κB and COX-2 in hydatidiform mole, we can predict the malignancy of hydatidiform mole, and provide a certain degree of clinical preventive chemotherapy Theoretical basis.
