The correct expression of numbers is one of the important contents of standardization of sci-tech periodicals. In the Trial Provisions Concerning the Use of Numbers in Publications, it is stated that Arabic numerals should be used wherever they can be used in Arabic numerals and in a decent manner. 4 and above the number of more than 4, using the internationally accepted three sub-section method, the festival half-space between Arabic numerals. Internationally, it is also stipulated that the space at the 4 digit thousandth is dispensable (Ann Intern Med, 1987, 106: 114). For example, four thousand can be written as 4000 or 4000. We recommend that you omit the space characters for the four Arabic numerals. This will not only keep each issue highly unified, but also reduce unnecessary proofreading burden. Our editorial and proofreading practices show that typographers in printers are not easy to distinguish between 4000 and 4000, and even if we proof it, they do not quite understand it. Therefore, in proofreading we only use words to express or face to face, adding unnecessary proofreading burden. Therefore, we suggest that all four Arabic numerals should be written in the same way.
