沙眼在我国是流行很普遍的眼病,也是危害劳动人民最严重的一种眼病。許多人因患沙眼而失明,丧失劳动能力,直接影响社会主义建设。摆在我们面前的任务是通过不断科学研究,加强防治沙眼工作。在去年大跃进期间,我们眼科学和微生物学两个教研组在采取北京生物制品研究所已获得的經验上共同进行了沙眼病毒的分离工作。經过几个月时间的努力,初步将沙眼病毒分离出来。分离出來的病毒的形态学特征是与文献上所描写的相符
Trachoma is a very popular eye disease in our country, and it is also one of the most serious eye diseases that endanger the working people. Many people lose their sight due to trachoma and lose their ability to work, which directly affects the building of socialism. The task before us is to strengthen the prevention and control of trachoma through continuous scientific research. During the Great Leap Forward last year, two teaching and research groups in ophthalmology and microbiology jointly conducted the trachoma separation on the experience gained by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products.
