粤剧艺术大师马师曾是一位富有爱国思想和民族气节的爱国人士，而且是一位才华横溢、成就卓越的杰出革新家。他那独创的“马腔”和精湛活泼的“马派”表演艺术，一生坚定不移地致力推崇粤剧改革的创新精神，以及大量的经典剧目，为岭南文化、粤剧艺术留下了丰厚的优秀遗产。今年４月下旬，在广州举行的马师曾百年诞辰的纪念研讨活动，传扬马师曾的高尚品艺，是在新时期中发扬和继承粤剧艺术的优良传统的一大举措，使具有“南国红豆”美誉的古老粤剧艺术在新的世纪里焕发出新的生命活力。在该纪念活动中，出版了纪念文集、举办了影展和演出晚会，４月２２日还在红线女艺术中心举行了由著名粤剧表演艺术家红线女、关国华主持的马师曾艺术研讨会。本刊选载研讨会的部分论文，以飨读者。
