田径运动在实施全民健身计划中能居主导地位,不仅是因为它在全民健身运动中有着良好的群众基础、具有易普及、成本低廉、适合我国国情以及健身作用价值大等其他运动项目无法比拟的优势,还因为它的项目多,形式多样,锻炼者可以根据自身的实际选择不同的项目来达到科学有效的提高身体素质的目的。因此,田径运动应成为全民健身活动的首选项目和主要活动方式,让田径运动的发展焕发新的生机与活力,为实施全民健身计划发挥更大的作用。
