On Dingcun is located in Mengjiao Township, Cangyuan County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province. It is a remote and difficult to find village on the map. The idea of a village on the water’s edge is also the meaning of cloud-filled winds, long honored by China National Geographic magazine as “the last primitive village in China.” This is a Wa village with more than 100 families and a history of more than 400 years. It is the most intact Wa village in China. Since the Wa people lived in remote areas of China, the Wa people had been in the slash-and-burn stage of primitive society until the liberation. After the liberation in one fell swoop transition to modern society, this
