编者告语中国人是中国的主人。中国人要认清中国。中国人与认清中国之间的利害关系是前途,命运,荣辱兴衰的关系。毛泽东同志说:“只有认清中国社会的性质,才能认清中国革命的对象、中国革命的任务、中国革命的动力、中国革命的性质、中国革命的前途和转变。所以,认清中国社会的性质,就是说,认清中国的国情,乃是认清一切革命问题的基本根据。”(《毛泽东选集》第二卷,第596页。)今天,邓小平同志又语重心长地指出:“对于中国是个什么样的国家,将要变成一个什么样的国家,这种教育都很少,这是我们很大的失误。”认识祖国,建设祖国,是中华民族儿女们的共同心愿。在这个心愿的驱动下,并为迎接中国共产党建党七十周年,我编辑部组织编写了《国话八题》这部文稿,以“国耻”、“国誉”、“国力”、“国情”、“国策”、“国宝”、“国英”、“国魂”八个题目,展示中国历史和现实的重要话题,以“史”兴“论”,以“论”烛“史”,从历史的、文化的、物质文明、精神文明的方方面面,选取精当的史实,揭示明确的道理,抒写感人的情志,以期发挥明示真理、昭张正义、烛照民心、凝聚民力的教育力量。《国话八题》可供做国情研究的参考,可供做德育教育、文史知识教育的读本。《国话八题》分期与读者见面。希望广大读者喜爱它,完善它。
