The requirements of “promoting discipline construction and theoretical innovation” are fully applicable to the work of the editorial board. It gives a high-level summary of the major work that the editorial board has done and is going to carry out, which has made us more clear about the focus and direction of our work in the future. The editorial board should make every effort to promote discipline construction and theoretical innovation in editorial science. This is a need for a thriving publishing business, a need to improve the editorial team and personnel for editorial work, and the need for editing science itself to move forward. Disciplinary construction and theoretical innovation can not be separated, and theoretical innovation is the soul of discipline construction.
