The applied test was conducted on the fighter index of thermal stress (FITS), an important indicator of the thermal load intensity of the summer cockpit in the USA when the summer day fighter jet was flying at low altitude. Six subjects were selected as healthy male subjects who were both over-heated. The test selected temperature and humidity values representing the FITS vigilance zone and the hazard zone respectively (Group A and Group B, respectively). Dress conditions by the Chinese pilots wear personal protective equipment. Each exposure time is 90 min. Measure the environment temperature, humidity, skin temperature, rectal temperature, sweating volume, heart rate and other indicators. The results showed that the control precision of temperature and humidity in both groups A and B met the test requirements during the test period, and the change of physiological indexes of subjects was close to that of corresponding areas in FITS vigilance area and dangerous area. Suggesting that the index has the potential to apply to the Chinese Air Force.
