近来有报道说,一支巡警队如何模范,不但歹徒望风披靡,寻常百姓为其小事找巡警,后者也是呼之即来,或翻墙入室,帮丢了钥匙的市民开门,或挽起袖子,帮助车主换轮胎。市民莫不交口称赞。从警察个人来说,确实道德高尚,但从宏观社会角度来看,却是极大的资源浪费。警察,尤其是巡警作为执法人员的首要职责是维护社会治安,做到这点便算是尽职。当然,如遇紧急情况,像是孕妇分娩,儿童走失,警察有义务相助,责无旁贷。但如果是巡警忙于助人为乐,在这边帮人开门,而那边盗者却撬门而入,这岂不是得不偿失。
