西方音乐呈现多元生态,西方音乐的历史,过去分期比较清楚,每个时期各有自己的统一风格。但是到了20世纪,很难再像以往那样划分现代时期、后现代时期。20世纪音乐只能大致标出现代、后现代的起点,如19世纪末、20世纪50年代。而整个20世纪的专业音乐生活,特别是20世纪中叶以来,则呈现多元景观古典前、古典、浪漫、现代、后现代的音乐同时并存。
Western music presents a pluralistic ecology, the history of Western music, the past staging more clearly, each period has its own uniform style. However, in the 20th century, it is hard to divide the modern period and the post-modern period like before. Twentieth-century music can only roughly mark the starting point of modern and post-modern times, such as the late 19th century and the 1950s. The entire 20th century professional music life, especially since the middle of the 20th century, presents a diverse landscape of classical, classical, romantic, modern and postmodern music co-exist at the same time.
