光盘是一种大容量的存贮器,其基本原理是将激光发射器的光束打到带金属保护膜的金属基片上,从而达到记录信息的目的。 光盘最突出的特点是:容量相当大,它的磁道密度是硬盘磁道密度的几百倍。其次是使用寿命较长,由于它采用激光二极管存取数据,不接触盘面,故光盘不象硬盘那样易于磨损。另外,它的信息存贮在金属保护膜下,不易丢失。光盘能在一般的微机上配置。
