AIM: To detect the expression of PI3K and phosphorylated Akt in the lesions of condyloma acuminatum (PI3K / Akt). Methods: Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of PI3K and phospho-Akt in 30 cases of condyloma acuminatum skin lesions and 15 cases of normal control skin biopsies. The results of computerized image acquisition and analysis were used to average the immunohistochemical results Absorbance (A value) was measured and the result of the western blot was grayscale scanned. Results: The expression of PI3K and phosphorylated Akt in condyloma acuminata lesions was significantly higher than that in normal skin. Western blotting results were consistent with immunohistochemistry (P <0.01 for both groups). Conclusion: The abnormal activation of PI3K / Akt signaling pathway may be involved in the pathogenesis of condyloma acuminatum.
