In 2014, a total of 18,998 cases of illegal grass-roots litigation occurred in the country, with 17,848 cases filed and 17,423 cases closed. The case filing rate was 93.9% and the settlement rate was 97.6%. The number of crimes decreased by 187 over the previous year, but the destruction of grassland area increased by 84,000 mu over the previous year to reach 313,700 mu.
