In this experiment, we investigated the mental development of the children in a lead factory. According to the extent of their parents’ exposure to lead, they were divided into experimental group (lead and lead on both sides or lead on one side), experimental group 2 (lead not exposed to lead) and control group. The total number of investigations was 183. The results showed that the level of blood lead (PbB) increased in the first and second groups, and the IQ decreased. The detection rate of low IQ in Parents-exposed group was higher (P <0.05). The IQ of mothers with lead was significantly lower than that of controls (P <0.05). When PbB ≥ 0.97μmol / L, IQ decreased. Stepwise regression analysis shows that lead is one of the factors that affect IQ.
