The Trimouns deposit in the French Pyrenees is one of the largest talc-chlorite deposits in the world. The formation of the deposit conditions and talc and chlorite ore content has been more clear. It is formed by different types of rocks through hydrothermal alteration alteration, mainly including alteration of dolomite into talc-based ores and alteration of silicalite (mica schist and pegmatite) to chlorite Ore. Talc ore shows a piece of petrified structure (talc schist) or a compacted block (talc). The chlorite mineral altered from Pegmatite is a green, spherical ore body. The chlorite minerals altered from mica schist are massive or platy, in colors of gray-green and dark gray. This article summarizes and discusses the geological features and causes of this unique talc and chlorite deposit in Europe. Fluid inclusions studies indicate that the ore-forming fluids are high salinity (20 to 30% eq. Wt% NaCl), medium temperature (320 ° C) and pressure of 2.5 kbars. The results of U-Pb dating of xenotime and monazite show that the metallogenic age is 112 ~ 97Ma and the mineralization may last more than 16Ma.
