On June 19, India launched its first experimental communications satellite, Apple, with the ESA Arion Rocket. The launch of this satellite marks a milestone for India in its development of synchronous communications satellites. India’s experience of space activities began with the development of a 360 kg heavy “Aliahata” scientific satellite. According to the Indian-Soviet cooperation plan, the satellite was launched by the Soviet Union for free in 1975. Since then, India has the ability to design and manufacture satellites. Then, in June 1979, a 447-kilogram Earth resources satellite, Pascal, was launched. The main satellite remote sensing instruments are two TV cameras and two microwave radiations
