The just-concluded 2001 is the first year of the new century and the first year of our “10th Five-Year Plan”. 2001 was a fortunate and extraordinary year for China: Beijing’s successful bid to host the Olympic Games, the successful holding of the Shanghai APEC Conference and the settling of China’s accession to the WTO. Under the global economic downturn, China’s economy is thriving and continues to be protected Steady growth. These are people are pleased and encouraged. However, at the same time, we have also noticed that the global economic situation is not optimistic. The downturn of business growth and the massive lay-offs are all over the IT industry. Both Chinese IT companies and IT companies in the world face the same challenges of survival and development . With the further opening of the country after the accession to WTO, our country’s economy will soon be integrated into the global economic environment.
