喜日而畏暑喜风而畏寒喜雨而畏潦喜润而畏湿喜干而畏燥喜土而畏厚喜肥而畏浊喜树荫而畏尘喜暧气而畏烟喜人而畏虫喜骤簇而畏离母喜培植而畏娇纵以上摘自明代箪溪子辑《兰易》十二翼。这十二条,充分说明兰的习性。现作如下注释:喜日而畏暑万物生长靠太阳,兰花也一样,缺少阳光便不能生长。但兰花喜柔和的晨光,忌烈日暴晒。兰以冬春的阳光为慈父母,以夏秋的阳光为暴王苛政。故兰室宜东南开敞,让冬月能纳日;西北要避西晒,盖设棚架遮荫,尤其夏秋炎阳,宜谨覆荫。
