湖北武汉青山区中国一冶公司武汉总部的张运炎,只要连续3小时不沾酒,他的手就抖得厉害。对这个“毛病”,张运炎也很烦。但是,对于患有直肠癌的他来说,喝酒让他在麻醉中忘却了许多痛苦。1981年,医院检查确诊他患有直肠癌中后期并伴有转移。医生为其做了直肠切除手术。为减轻肠胃负担,减少上厕所的次数,张运炎慢慢地试着不吃饭,每餐饮一大杯白酒,既解饿也补充营养。半年后,他竟然重新上班了。通常,他每顿早餐要喝6两白酒。
