用泵扬送浮选泡沫,主要困难是空气由泡沫中分离出来而阻塞泡沫泵。采用具有垂直轴的特殊泵,空气由上方给矿口排出,从而能够扬送硫化物浮选泡沫。但在生产过程使用脂肪酸和胺时,因泡沫浓度很不同,操作这些特殊泵也是困难的。这些泡沫在选厂其他作业中也造成麻烦,在流程中需要破灭它。但许多主要的消泡方法都是暂时的。并对某磷灰石选厂用机械“消泡器”(froth Killer)的试验实践有所描述。
