As the chief architect of China’s reform and opening up and the socialist modernization drive, Deng Xiaoping changed China in the late 20th century and led the Chinese nation onto the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. His idea of selecting cadres is an important part of Deng Xiaoping Theory and is of great significance to the long-term development of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
