In this paper, the changes of serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) and lipid peroxidase (LPO) in 100 cases of children with Japanese encephalitis (JE) and 14 cases of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were measured to predict the course of disease and the prognosis. Materials and Methods 1. Subjects: From 1994 to 1996, 100 cases of children with JE were admitted to our hospital. According to Wang Jiwu’s chief editor, “Infectious Diseases”, the diagnosis was based on the positive results of two JE antibodies.
