本刊讯去年我国防汛抗旱工作取得显著的减灾成效,其中全国洪涝灾害死亡人数较常年减少近八成,为新中国成立以来最少的一年。国家防汛抗旱总指挥部副总指挥、水利部部长陈雷在此间召开的全国防汛抗旱工作会议上介绍,2009年,全国重要堤防无一决口,水库无一垮坝,重要城市和重要保护目标无一受淹,全国洪涝灾害死亡人数较常年减少八成,洪涝受灾面积少四成,经济损失少三成,其中洪涝灾害死亡人数为新中国成立以来最少的一年;全年抗旱挽回粮食损失499亿公斤,解决了1979万人和1131万头大牲畜的饮水困难。
