On December 11, 1985, more than 500 art and cultural workers in the capital met at the Capital Theater to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Jiao Ju-hsien’s birthday and the tenth anniversary of his death. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Chinese Dramatists Association, Propaganda Department of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Beijing People’s Art Theater. Cao Yu, Zhao Qi Yang, Zhou Weizhi and Chen Haosu spoke at the conference and cherished their memory of Jiao Juyin’s outstanding contribution to the cause of socialist drama.
