刘清泉在北京中医药大学东直门医院急诊科已经工作了十几年。医术精湛是出了名的,他的医德更令患者赞不绝口。2000年3月初的一天,一位80岁老人被送进急诊科,呼吸、心跳都已经停止。刘清泉带领医护人员立即实行胸外心脏按压、气管插管、随后,他又对老人实行人工呼吸。5分钟后,老人心跳、呼吸慢慢恢复。在老人复苏40分钟后,刘清泉根据病情,大胆进行静脉溶栓治疗,从死亡线上把奄奄一息的老人拉了回来。病愈后,老人万分感谢,送给刘清泉一个鼓鼓的红包,被刘清泉谢绝了。老人执意要表达谢意,给急诊科送来了一面锦旗。在急诊科工作的这些年里,身边的同事大多转科或者改行,过上了较为舒适的日子。有同志劝他:“搞个专业多好,急诊科太累了”。可每当面对一个个被疾病折磨得痛苦不堪的患者时,刘清泉感到自己肩上的担子是那么重;
