1986年9月,苏州市乡镇企业思想政治工作研究会在乡镇企业发展中应运而生。作为全国第一个乡镇企业思想政治工作研究会,经过几年的努力和探索,目前基层团体会员已发展到118个,占全市乡镇企业的三分之二以上,并还在逐步向厂村拓展延伸,形成了由市到县、到乡、到乡镇企业这样一个上下连线、左右成网的格局,在乡镇企业思想政治工作和两个文明建设中发挥了很好的作用。
